Do you know if all your equipment is properly installed, properly maintained, and has no evidence of impending failure? It can be a challenge to keep a facility’s electrical equipment in good condition when your safety maintenance crew is constantly dealing with unexpected downtime. Knowing what needs some TLC before it causes problems can be a struggle if you don’t know what to look for.
Herzig Engineering can help point out the potential points of failure in your system. Our Engineering Technicians are proficient in the applicable codes and standards regarding installation and safety maintenance. They can perform on-site surveys of your electrical equipment while taking pictures of any possible problems they come across. Those pictures will then be used to create a detailed report by one of our Engineers so you can be equipped with a knowledge-based approach in performing Electrical Preventative Maintenance instead of a reactive problem-solving approach.
When we are onsite performing this survey, we will use the National Electrical Code (NEC) also known as the NFPA 70 as well as the NFPA 70B which is the “Recommended Practice for Electrical Equipment Maintenance.” The scope of equipment we will survey is entirely up to you! If you would like a specific piece of equipment surveyed, your entire facility, or just your main switchgear units, we can accommodate any request.
Please note that NFPA 70E requires in Article 110.1(C) that, “The electrical safety program shall include elements that consider condition of maintenance of electrical equipment and systems.”
